Allantoin is a naturally occurring compound found in a variety of botanical extracts, including comfrey, a herbaceous plant known for its medicinal properties. Comfrey extract has been traditionally used for wound healing and skin conditions due to its high allantoin content and is used in almost all of The LGC Co.'s hero, skin healing products.

Allantoin is a humectant, meaning it helps the skin retain moisture by drawing water into the epidermis.
